Rogério Bueno Sousa nasceu no Brasil (Botucatu, SP), em 1972. Licenciou-se pela Faculdade de Arquitectura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo em 1997. Participou do 1º programa de intercâmbio discente FAUUSP-FAUP (1995/1996). Estagiou na EMURB e na Construtora MP. Licenciado, trabalhou com o arq. Frédéric Lebard em Paris, França (1998). Em São Paulo, no Atelier Felipe Crescenti, com o arq. Pedro Mendes da Rocha (1999/2000), e na empresa Aflalo e Gasperini Arquitetos (2000/2002). Em Portugal, na B&B Consulting Arquitetura e Engenharia (2003/04). Recebeu, em co-autoria, as seguintes distinções: 1º prémio no concurso para o Centro de Convenções da Faculdade de Medicina da UNESP (2002), menção honrosa no concurso para o restauro e ampliação da Faculdade de Medicina da USP (1998) e menção honrosa na Premiação Anual do IAB-SP em 2004. Teve um projeto selecionado para a 3ª Bienal de Arquitetura de São Paulo. Manteve sempre sua atividade de profissional independente: entre outros, é co-autor, do Centro de Cuidados Continuados “O Poverello”, em Braga. Colabora com o CEAU-FAUP, grupo de investigação Arquitetura: Teoria, Projeto, História, e desenvolve sua tese de doutoramento “A Arquitectura de João Walter Toscano: uma atualização do legado moderno brasileiro” no âmbito do PDA da FAUP. Áreas de interesse: teoria de arquitectura e projecto; relações entre as arquitecturas portuguesa e brasileira; a modernidade/contemporaneidade e a arquitectura.
Rogério Bueno Sousa was born in Brazil (Botucatu, SP) in 1972. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo in 1997. He participated in the 1st FAUUSP-FAUP student exchange program (1995/1996). Licensed, he worked with arch. Frédéric Lebard in Paris, France (1998). In São Paulo, at the Atelier Felipe Crescenti, with arch. Pedro Mendes da Rocha (1999/2000), and in the Company Aflalo and Gasperini Architects (2000/2002). In Portugal, at B&B Consulting Architecture and Engineering (2003/04). He receveid, in co-authorship, the following awards: 1st prize in the competition for the Convention Center of the Faculty of Medicine of UNESP (2002), honorable mention in the contest for the restoration and expansion of the Faculty of Medicine of USP (1998) and honorable mention at the IAB-SP Annual Awards in 2004. He had a project selected for the 3rd Biennial of Architecture in São Paulo. He has always maintained his independent professional activity, among others, he is co-author of the Center for Continuing Healthcare "O Poverello" in Braga. He collaborates with CEAU-FAUP, a research group Architecture: Theory, Project, History, and develops his doctoral thesis "The Architecture of João Walter Toscano: a renovation of the brazilian modern legacy" in the PDA of FAUP. Areas of interest: architecture theory and project; Relations between Portuguese and Brazilian architectures; the modernity/contemporaneity and the architecture.
