Bárbara Rangel, arquiteta, é Professora auxiliar no Departamento de Engenharia Civil da FEUP. Obteve o Mestrado em Construções e o PhD em Engenharia Civil ambos na FEUP. É investigadora do CONSTRUCT/DEC/FEUP e do DESIGNstudio/FEUP. Trabalhou por um ano o Arq. Rafael Moneo e por cinco com o Arq. Álvaro Siza. É fundadora do gabinete de arquitetura e engenharia ABprojetos. Desde 2015 é membro da Comissão Executiva do Departamento de Engenharia Civil e membro do Comissariado Social desde 2014.
É docente de Arquitetura no Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Civil e regente das UC de Produto e de Design de Produto no Programa Doutoral em Líderes para Indústrias Tecnológicas FEUP/MIT e de Projeto de Design Industrial no Mestrado de Design Industrial e de Produto. Desenvolve projetos de investigação em Engenharia Civil, nomeadamente o projeto europeu de que é líder BIGmachine educational lab for Civil Enginerring, e o projeto P2020 em que colabora iNBRAIL – Innovative NOISE BARRIERS for RAILways com a Mota Engil. Na área do Design Industrial destacam-se o projeto para uma máquina digital de café para a Bicafé e o projeto P2020 We Won’t Waste You com a Câmara Municipal de Matosinhos um Projeto de Eco-design e Design Social. É editora da Cadernos d’Obra, revista científica internacional na área do Projeto Integrado, da coleção Livros d’Obra e das Sebentas d’Obra de divulgação de obras nacionais. É Guest editor e autora da Editora Internacional Springer. É co-autora de vários livros, capítulos e artigos científicos em revistas indexadas, congressos internacionais e nacionais. No âmbito cientifico, é também de destacar o prémio obtido na Aplied Ergonomic Society com o projeto para a cadeira evolutiva desenvolvida no MDIP para a Natulis em 2015 e o Prémio de Reconhecimento Científico 2016 atribuído pela FEUP.
Bárbara Rangel, architect, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at FEUP, where she obtained the Master in Construction and PhD in Civil Engineering and develop research in CONSTRUCT / DEC / FEUP and DESIGNstudio / FEUP. The professional practice started with Rafael Moneo for a year and Álvaro Siza during five years. She is the founder of ABprojetos architecture and engineering office. Since 2015 is member of the Executive Committee of the Department of Civil Engineering and member of the Social Commissariat since 2014.
She is a lecturer in Architecture in the Integrated Master in Civil Engineering and responsible for the disciplines Product Design in the Doctoral Program in Leaders for FEUP / MIT Technology Industries and of Industrial Design Project in the Master of Industrial and Product Design. From the research developed in both areas in Civil Engineering, stands for instance the leadership of an European BIGmachine educational lab for Civil Enginerring, and as a collaborator in the project P2020 iNBRAIL - Innovative NOISE BARRIERS for RAILways with Mota Engil. In Industrial Design, currently tow projects stand out: a digital coffee machine for Bicafé and the P2020 project We Will not Waste You with the Municipality of Matosinhos. She is the editor of Cadernos d'Obra, an international scientific journal in the area of the Integrated Project, the collection of Livros d’Obra and Sebentas d'Obra a collection that intends to disseminate exmaples of Portuguese Integrate Projects. She is Guest Editor and Author of International Springer. She is the co-author of several books, chapters and scientific articles in indexed journals, international and national congresses. In the scientific field, it is also worth mentioning the award obtained in the Aplied Ergonomic Society with the project for the evolutionary chair developed in the MDIP for Natulis in 2015 and the Award of Scientific Recognition 2016 awarded by FEUP.
