Miguel Borges de Araújo é um Arquitecto (Universidade do Minho, 2005), e Doutor em Arquitectura (Tampere University of Technology, Finlândia, 2018) com a tese: “The Work of the Studio Aalto Collaborators: Practice, Craft and Theory” (DATUTOP, 2018). Trabalhou como colaborador em escritórios de arquitectura em Portugal, Finlândia, e Coreia do Sul. Frequentou o curso de Conservação da Arquitectura do Movimento Moderno – MARC 2011 (ICCROM/ Finnish National Board of Antiquities). Foi Monitor de Teoria 1 (Minho, 2005-6), e desde 2016 Professor Assistente de projecto, desenho, e seminários de teoria da arquitectura na Graduate School of Architecture Konkuk University em Seul. Tem realizado investigação na área entre teoria e prática, com um foco na arquitectura do Movimento Moderno, incluindo visitas, entrevistas, investigação em arquivos públicos e privados, participação em conferências, publicação de artigos, e organização de workshops. Produziu a exposição “The Work of Alvar Aalto’s Collaborators – The Architects Jaakko Kontio, Kaarlo Leppänen and Eric Adlercreutz” (Studio Aalto, Helsínquia, 2014). Actualmente é investigador no grupo de T2P – Teoria e Práticas de Projecto do CEAU-FAUP e membro do projecto de investigação “Siza Barroco”, financiado pela FCT.
Miguel Borges de Araújo is an Architect (University of Minho, 2005), and a Doctor in Architecture (Tampere University of Technology, Finland, 2018) with the thesis: “The Work of the Studio Aalto Collaborators: Practice, Craft and Theory” (DATUTOP, 2018). He has worked as a collaborator in architecture offices in Portugal, Finland, and South Korea. He took part in the Conservation of Modern Architecture Course – MARC 2011 (ICCROM/ Finnish National Board of Antiquities). He was a Teaching Assistant of Theory 1 (Minho, 2005-6), and since 2016 an Assistant Professor of design, drawing studios, and theory seminars at the Graduate School of Architecture Konkuk University in Seoul. His research interests have been in the area between theory and practice, with a focus on the Modern Movement architecture, including site visits, interviews, research on private and public archives, participation in conferences, paper publications, and organization of workshops. He produced the exhibition “The Work of Alvar Aalto’s Collaborators – The Architects Jaakko Kontio, Kaarlo Leppänen and Eric Adlercreutz” (Studio Aalto, Helsinki, 2014). Currently he is a researcher of the T2P – Theory and Project Practices group of CEAU-FAUP and a member of the research project “Siza Baroque”, financed by the FCT.
